The maintenance of pipework is critical in every industry and facility. Common causes of damage and deterioration to pipes, valves, and fittings can include impact, frost damage, corrosion, erosion, and chemical attack.

Cold-curing composite repair materials can return strength to weakened, holed, or leaking pipes. Our industrial pipe repair solutions include bonding patches over damaged areas and the application of reinforced Belzona pipe wraps which are ideal for the permanent repair of low-pressure, non-critical equipment. In addition, leaking pipes can also lead to a pressure drop which results in a reduction in the efficiency of the process.

Belzona systems can stop the leak and seal the area instantly, without the need to shut down the process.For situations where a high-performance solution is required, Belzona offers an engineered solution. This can be designed and applied in accordance with international standards ISO 24817 and ASME PCC-2 to provide a downtime-saving alternative to welding. This system is suitable for applications in both cool and warm climates and at various service temperatures up to 150°C (302°F).

What is the cure time of an epoxy for pipe repair?

The cure time of a Belzona epoxy for pipe repair depends on the product. Please refer to the product’s documentation to find the cure time. For example, Belzona 1212 cure times are as follows:

How do you apply a pipe repair kit?

To apply a pipe repair kit, firstly wipe away excess leaking material. Use a dry rag for water or Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/ Degreaser) for other contamination. Secondly, cut off the required amount of Belzona 9611 and knead in gloved hands to a uniform grey color. Next, force the material into cracks and holes and apply pressure until the material has hardened: this is best achieved using Belzona Tourniquet. After approximately one hour, remove the tourniquet and apply Belzona 1111,1121,1221, or 1212 to secure the repair. Then, spread the Belzona onto the Belzona 9341 (Reinforcement Tape). Next, apply the bandage to the area to be repaired with the coated side adjacent to the substrate. Finally, press down firmly to fill all cracks, remove entrapped air, and ensure maximum contact. For pipes, wrap tightly around several times and allow to cure. Please refer to the documentation of the product you are using for more information.

What can I use to seal a leaking pipe?

Belzona has various solutions to seal a leaking pipe. For example, Belzona Super Wrap II can repair large leaks, while Belzona 1212 Leak Sealing Kit can be used for smaller applications.
