Description

Belzona 7311 is a fatigue resistant adhesive, optimised for structural bonding applications requiring high mechanical strength, cleavage and shear resistance. Belzona 7311 is ideally suited for bonding applications subjected to cyclic and repeated load.

As a specially designed adhesive, it offers the perfect alternative to mechanical fastenings/fixings and can be a viable alternative to welding, eliminating any need for hot work, making it a safe yet high-performance solution. This easy to mix product requires no specialist tools or equipment for application and cure and is suitable for both dry and wet service up to 60 °C (140 °F).

With a high amount of performance data available from the development and testing of Belzona 7311, customers have the ability to perform finite element analysis (FEA) and model bonded assemblies. This allows a client to simulate the stresses the adhesive will experience in service to satisfy themselves that the Belzona 7311 solution is capable of performing against real-world forces it will be subjected to in use.

The epoxy structural adhesive, Belzona 7311 has been specifically designed for structural bonding applications which require high mechanical and shear strength together with cleavage and peel resistance. Belzona 7311 is a toughened epoxy adhesive material ideal for any applications where the structure to be affixed will be subjected to fatigue, cleavage, and/or peel forces in addition to environmental corrosion. The application of the structural bonding adhesive, Belzona 7311, depends on the substrate. Generally, the area must be abraded to create a profile the coating will adhere to. Then, the surface must be sturdy, free of loose materials, and clean. To mix the product, transfer the entire contents of the Base and Solidifier modules to the Belzona Working Surface and mix thoroughly together to achieve a uniform material. If applicable, define the bonding area using masking tape. Next, apply a thin layer of Belzona 7311 to the prepared surfaces of the adhesive joint using a shot-bristled brush or suitable application tool. Apply additional product onto the center of one of the prepared surfaces and build it up into a peak. Press the two surfaces firmly together immediately after Belzona 7311 has been applied while making sure they are correctly aligned. The product must exude from all corners and edges, and any Belzona 7311 beyond the adhesive joint must be chamfered prior to curing. Finally, remove any tape, apply bonding supports if needed, and allow to cure. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
