Belzona 4181 (AHR Magma-Quartz)

An acid and heat-resistant epoxy repair mortar for concrete and stone repair, resurfacing and protection.
Description

A 3-part epoxy repair mortar designed for the repair, resurfacing and protection of concrete and stone subject to impact, abrasion, heat and chemical attack. This concrete repair epoxy provides outstanding acid and heat resistance and is ideally suited for horizontal surfaces, as well as vertical surfaces up to a thickness of 6mm (¼ inch.)

Belzona 4181 (AHR Magma-Quartz) is a solvent-free, chemical resistant epoxy which is supplied as a base, solidifier and separate aggregate, that when combined forms a trowelable consistency to rebuild damaged surfaces.

  • High mechanical and impact strength
  • Provide outstanding long-term abrasion and heat resistance
  • Excellent chemical resistance particularly to inorganic acids
  • Easy to mix and apply with no specialist tools and can be used in small quantities when required
  • Application and cure at room temperature – no hot work involved
  • No shrinkage irrespective of the thickness applied
  • In-service acid cure develops maximum acid resistance
  • Post-cure develops maximium heat resistance
  • Downtime reduction due to its fast-curing properties
  • Reduced health and safety risks as it is solvent-free
  • Excellent bonding to metallic and non-metallic surfaces including concrete, brick, marble, stone and many other rigid surfaces
  • Repair and resurfacing  of areas such as chemical drains, channels, sumps, bund areas, transfer and holding areas
  • Rebuilding and protection of concrete flange faces
  • Grouting, bonding and shimming of equipment subject to heat and acid such as ovens, structural supports, tiles and pumps

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

An epoxy repair mortar is a workable paste that cures to bind substrates such as concrete and masonry, to repair and resurface irregular gaps and cracks between them.

Yes, epoxy is chemically resistant. Belzona’s chemical-resistant epoxies can resist a range of chemicals from alkalis to acids at different temperatures.
To apply the epoxy repair mortar, Belzona 4181 (AHR Magma-Quartz), the surface must be clean, firm, and dry. New concrete should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days. To mix the material, add the entire contents of the Belzona 4181 Solidifier to the Base and stir thoroughly until it is completely mixed. Then, empty the entire contents into the large mixing bucket. Slowly incorporate the Belzona 4181 Aggregate into the resin and mix. Then, apply the material directly onto the prepared surface. First, spread to a general level using normal screeding techniques and then tap down firmly with a trowel or float to remove entrapped air, compact the material, and ensure maximum contact with the surface. Finally, allow the material to cure. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
