Description

Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer) is a 2-part, flexible multi-purpose polyurethane resin for rubber repair, rebuilding and coating of components and metal surfaces. This flexible rubber repair material makes cost effective repairs possible and is appropriate for applications where high build, durability and elasticity are required. This solvent-free elastomeric material is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work.

Rubber is an abrasion-resistant material. Abrasion resistance depends on the hardness and elastic modulus. For example, polyurethane, such as Belzona’s 2000 Series products, is regarded as one of the best options for abrasion resistance. The abrasion-resistant rubber linings can provide a protective coating to most substrates susceptible to wear.
The mixing ratio of the polyurethane resin, Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer), is as follows:

The steps to apply the rubber repair system, Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer), are as follows:
  • Clean the application area with Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/ Degreaser). If oil continues to form, abrade the surface with a suitable roughing tool.
  • Apply a thin, even coat of Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) or Belzona 2921 (Elastomer GP Conditioner) onto the surface with a brush.
  • Transfer the entire contents of the Base and Solidifier containers onto the Belzona Working Surface and mix for at least three minutes for an even consistency.
  • Apply the Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer) to the conditioned surface with a stiff-bristled brush or the plastic applicator provided to achieve the required thickness.
  • Allow to cure.
