Description

Belzona 2131 (D & A Fluid Elastomer) is a 2-part polyurethane resin designed for the coating of metal and rubber surfaces, as well as casting of new rubber components. This flexible rubber material is appropriate for applications where durability, elasticity, high abrasion and tear resistance are required. It is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work and vulcanisation

What is polyurethane resin?

A polyurethane resin is a flexible and durable material; it is a synthetic resin composed of carbamate/urethane groups linked to polymer units.

What do you use polyurethane resin for?

Polyurethane resin can be used for the fast repair of cracks and tears in rubber equipment, creation, and restoration of expansion joints, providing an abrasion-resistant coating to tanks and fluid handling equipment, creation of gasket and seals, casting of rubber components, and it can be used as a cold-curing alternative to vulcanized rubber.

How do you fix something that is rubber?

The first step to fixing a rubber substrate is it must be degreased and abraded. Then, apply a coat of a conditioner such as Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) or Belzona 2921 (Elastomer GP Conditioner) and let it dry. After, mix the Base and Solidifier of the rubber repair product in use together in the mixing bowl provided. Next, apply the material with the plastic applicator or spatula provided.
