Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2)

Erosion, corrosion, chemical, and heat-resistant coating for high-temperature equipment operating under immersion up to 120°C (248°F).
Description

A 2-part, high-temperature epoxy coating formulated to provide metal surfaces with erosion and corrosion protection in combination with excellent chemical resistance. Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2) will resist water, aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons in acid contaminated water, and hydrocarbons up to temperatures of 120°C (248°F) in continuous immersion.

This easy-to-use anti-corrosion coating can be applied by brush or applicator eliminating the need for specialist tools and will cure at room temperature.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

To ensure an effective molecular weld, only apply the heat resistant epoxy coating, Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2), to clean, firm, dry, and well-roughened surfaces. To achieve this, firstly clear away any loose contamination and use Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser) to clean and degrease the surface. Following this, roughen the surface by blast cleaning, deeply scoring, or grinding. Degrease the surface again, allowing the surface to dry before combining the reactive components. To do this, transfer a quarter of the contents of the Solidifier can into the Base unit. Mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform consistency then, add the remainder of the Solidifier and mix to a uniform material free of any streakiness. Next, apply the Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2) directly onto the prepared surface with a stiff-bristled brush or with the plastic applicator provided at the recommended coverage rate. Finally, mixing tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Belzona 9111 or any other effective solvent e.g., Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Application tools should be cleaned with Belzona 9121, MEK, or cellulose thinners.   For more information, read the Instructions for Use (IFU): Belzona 1392
The cure time of the industrial coating, Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2) varies depending on the ambient condition. The cure time is as follows:
Ambient temperature Time until inspection Time until full service Time until post-cure (if required)
Dry Wet
68°F/ 20°C 12 hours 96 hours 12 hours 28 hours
86°F/ 30°C 5 hours 18 hours 5 hours 8 hours
104°F/ 40°C 3 hours 10 hours 3 hours 5 hours
Post-cure is possible if desired. The coating should be heated between 122°F/ 50°C and 212°F/ 100°C for a minimum of 1 hour. For more information, see the Instructions for Use (IFU): Belzona 1392
The operating temperature of anti-corrosion coating, Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2) while immersed in water, aqueous solutions, and hydrocarbons are up to a temperature of 248°F/ 120°C. For more information, see the Product Specification Sheet (PSS): Belzona 1392 (PSS)
