Description

Belzona 1391T is a 2-part, high-temperature epoxy coating which provides erosion and corrosion protection to equipment operating under immersion up to 248°F (120°C ). It offers excellent resistance to a wide range of aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons, and process chemicals.

This 2-coat, solvent-free, high-performance epoxy coating is applied using simple hand tools to areas requiring maximum erosion resistance. It has a long overcoat window and can be rapidly force cured allowing applications to be effectively completed with minimal downtime, shortening application time, and simplifying maintenance procedures.

For situations where a sprayable coating is required,  Belzona 1391S is the perfect solution.

The ceramic coating, Belzona 1391T provides corrosion protection by creating a barrier that prevents a variety of chemicals from permeating the epoxy material and reaching the substrate underneath.
To ensure an effective molecular weld, only apply the ceramic polymer coating, Belzona 1391T, to clean, firm, dry, and well-roughened surfaces. To achieve this, firstly clear away any loose contamination and use Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser) to clean and degrease the surface. Following this, roughen the surface by blast cleaning, deeply scoring, or grinding. Degrease the surface again, allowing the surface to dry before combining the reactive components. To do this, transfer the entire contents of the Solidifier container into the Base container. Mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform material free of any streakiness. Next, apply the Belzona 1391T directly onto the prepared surface with a stiff-bristled brush or with the plastic applicator provided at the recommended coverage rate. Belzona 1391T can be overcoated as soon as it is firm enough to do so.

Finally, mixing tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Belzona 9111 or any other effective solvent e.g., Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Application tools should be cleaned with Belzona 9121, MEK, or cellulose thinners.

The cure time of the heat-resistant epoxy coating, Belzona 1391T varies on the ambient temperature condition. The cure time is as follows:

  Post-cure will generally be unnecessary as the coating will cure sufficiently at ambient temperature; however, post-cure is possible if desired for a quicker return to service.
