Belzona 1391S

A spray-applied heat-resistant epoxy coating for corrosion protection of high-temperature equipment operating under immersion up to 110°C (230°F).
Description

A high-performance coating designed to provide corrosion protection to high-temperature equipment operating under continuous immersion up to 110°C (230°F). This solvent-free, high-temperature epoxy coating provides excellent resistance to a wide range of aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons, and process chemicals. It is easy to mix and apply using heated airless spray equipment and it cures at room temperature reducing downtime.

  • Operates at high temperature under immersed conditions
  • Rapid spray application results in reduced downtime
  • Excellent chemical resistance against a wide range of chemicals
  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Application and cure at room temperature – no hot work involved
  • Resistant to rapid depressurization and steam out process to 210°C (410°F)
  • Excellent cathodic disbondment resistance
  • Reduced health and safety risks as it is solvent-free
  • No shrinkage, expansion, or distortion
  • Excellent bonding to many metal surfaces including carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialist steels
  • Excellent electrical insulation characteristics
  • Anti-corrosion coating for oil production separators, flare knock-out vessels, and evaporators operating under immersion
  • Corrosion protection against a variety of chemicals in equipment such as boiler vessels and heat exchangers operating at high temperature

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

To ensure an effective molecular weld, only apply the high-temperature coating, Belzona 1391S, to clean, firm, dry, and well-roughened surfaces. To achieve this, firstly clear away any loose contamination and use Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser) to clean and degrease the surface. Following this, roughen the surface by blast cleaning, deeply scoring, or grinding. Degrease the surface again, allowing the surface to dry before combining the reactive components. To do this, Belzona 1391S must be applied using specialized equipment: a single airless pump or plural equipment capable of metering accurately and mixing the two components can be used. Transfer the Solidifier and Base into heated airless equipment and continuously spray the product. Finally, mixing tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Belzona 9111 or any other effective solvent e.g., Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK).
