Description

A 2-part epoxy coating designed to improve efficiency of pumps, pipes, valves and other fluid handling equipment while protecting them from the effects of erosion and corrosion. This high performance product is proven to reduce energy consumption, provide excellent chemical resistance and lower maintenance costs.

Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) improves pump efficiency by using hydrophobic technology to repel process fluids and reduce turbulent flow. Efficiency increases of up to 7% have been recorded on new equipment and up to 20% on refurbished equipment.

To apply the epoxy coating Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) on steel substrates, only apply the coating to clean, firm, dry, and well-roughened surfaces. To achieve this, firstly clear away any loose contamination and use Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser) to clean and degrease the surface. Following this, roughen the surface by blast cleaning, deeply scoring, or grinding. Degrease the surface again, allowing the surface to dry before combining the reactive components. To do this, transfer the entire contents of the Solidifier container into the Base container. Mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform material free of any streakiness. Next, apply the Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) directly onto the prepared surface with a stiff-bristled brush or with the plastic applicator provided at the recommended coverage rate. On suitable areas, a spray application is possible using a heated airless spray with a setup of 63: 1 airless spray unit with either an in-line heater or trace heated lines. Finally, mixing tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Belzona 9111 or any other effective solvent e.g., Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK).
