Description

Belzona 5233 is a waterborne, solvent-free and UV-stable floor coating. It is designed to offer long–term protection and durability for internal and external flooring applications. This system provides outstanding mechanical strength and resistance to abrasion, ideal for areas with high levels of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Primarily, it is used in conjunction with Belzona 5231 and aggregates to create seamless, slip-resistant flooring in various facilities. Available as a grey or clear coating, Belzona 5233 is easily hand-applied by brush or roller, without the need for any specialist tools.

To apply an anti-slip coating first, prepare the substrate and mix the materials following the instruction of the Instructions for Use (IFU) document. Apply the epoxy coating first in a three-layer system. Belzona 5231, when applied as a base coat should achieve 10 mil (250 microns) wet film thickness to provide proper adhesion for the aggregate. Then, immediately after the application of Belzona 5231 and while it is still wet, sprinkle Belzona 9232 (soured separately) by hand or any suitable dispenser. After Belzona 5231 has cured, remove the excess aggregate by vacuuming or blowing (the extra can be recycled or reused). Finally, after removing the excess aggregate, Belzona 5233 can be applied by rolling with a short or medium nap roller. Please see the Instruction for Use (IFU) for more information.

Epoxy is chemically resistant. For example, if a containment area stores chemicals and a contractor wanted to protect the floor, Belzona recommends using a chemical-resistant floor coating such as Belzona 5233(SG Laminate) as it can endure harsh acids and alkalis.
